Mt. St. Helens is an active volcano which erupted May 18, 1980. It is 8,364
feet high. We arrived at the Visitor's Station when the mountain was shrouded in
clouds so we could not get a clear picture of it. However, we got a chance to
explore Silver Lake was created as a result of the volcanic conditions in 1980.
