The
cables running up Cannon Mountain for the Cable Car. Clouds surrounded the peak
of the mountain when we got there.
Connie
and I arrived at the foot of Cannon Mountain ready to climb the 4200 feet (By
cable car, that is!).
All
bundled up, Connie and I were ready to trek to the top of the mountain which at
the time was 29 degrees.
Looking
up Cannon Mountain from inside the cable car.
The
vibrant colors of sky and trees make the climb up Cannon Mountain a magical
journey.

destination.
Looking
to the south of Cannon Mountain towards the Franconia Parkway which runs through
the park and is a section of US 93.

mountain.
The
frost on the trees at the top of Cannon Mountain. Within two days it snowed on
top of the mountain after a cold front finished coming through.
The
frost and cloudy conditions was as close as we were to get to winter during our
Leaf Peeper trip to New Hampshire. We hiked on the mountain top for about 15
minutes and were "frozen Floridians" on our return.
The
visibility was obscured on the top of the mountain by the clouds.
A
panoramic view of Echo Lake on our return trip down the mountain.
Clouds
obscure the view initially on the return trip down as we look south.
Our
view as we begin the trek down the mountain. The clouds could not take away from
the color of the vista.
As
we approach the tops of the trees on the mountain we get a close up of how the
trees create the post-card perfect landscapes during this fall "Leaf Color
Peak Season."
The
clouds play with the views down the mountainside.
We
left Cannon Mountain overwhelmed by how God and Nature work together to create
such beauty and grace in this precious land.
