Introduction

This memorial site is dedicated to Regina Rose Byrne. At the time of her tragic death, Regina was a fifteen year old tenth grader at Tampa Catholic High School. She was the oldest daughter of Ken and Lauren Byrne. She had an older brother, younger brother Sean and a younger sister Cassie. She died as a result of injuries she sustained in an automobile accident as a passenger on December 2, 2003.

The following is the obituary which was in the Tampa Tribune for Regina:

Think before grabbing a ride with others

Regina was a "one of a kind" young lady who touched many peoples' hearts in her short life. Her story is one of a wonderful human being who was able to pack in a lifetime of living into her short decade and a half on this earth. It is our hope that this memorial site will awaken the minds and hearts of teens to be more careful when they get into cars; and to be especially more careful with whom they chose to drive with when they are passengers.

THINK!

Before grabbing a Ride with Others...

THINK!

Take time before jumping into a car driven by another teen

Have a clear understanding of whom you are driving with

Investigate if the person is or has been on drugs in the past month

Name the rules of the road you expect your driver to follow

Keep reminding your driver that your life is in his or her hands
