Coping with the 9.11.01 Aftermath

Opportunity

By: Kira Elizabeth Margaret Reddi

October brings wind

Purring in the air

Perfecting life

Offering all of us joy in being

Ringing through the hearts of all

Teaching our souls to cooperate

Until there is no more!

Nurturing those who are left.

Innocent people.

Trying to start again.

Yet not able to.

In her own words:

When my mom told me about the terrorists in New York at first I thought about how the towers were standing still and then they just fell. How sad for every family and every person is what I thought next. Then I thought why?  Then I thought how sad for all of the people that loved the people who died and how they were left alone. I still wonder why it happened.  I wrote this poem in October to get my feelings out.

Kira Elizabeth Margaret Reddi is nine years old and in 4th grade
