The Dawn of a New DayDay 1
What will the dawn of a new day bring, No one knows Explosions and screams, throughout the air they sing As national towers of power blow
A country stands in horror and disbelief Their dignity being raped before their eyes As people jump to their death hoping for relief Listen to the cries
Throughout the day buildings crumble As a nation's fear turns to rage Questions arise as to how we could be so humbled What is the animal that can not be caged
Innocence is lost Where is my mommy, my daddy Freedom's cost? We reflect sadly
The actions of hatred are deafening And yet heroism and sacrifice are still heard Faith is undaunting America shall endure
Now lay me down to rest For tomorrow I will arise face the test Day 2
What will the dawn of a new day bring, One never knows A telephone rings As the country's spirit is aglow
A nation is called together United we stand To love thy brother Now lend me your hand
Thousands pick up the pieces Ruble, debris, and carnage Millions to help if it pleases Harvesting the power of knowledge
Songs of pride are sung Vows of justice are made Bells of hope are rung World governments promise aide
Rescue efforts are bold From dusk till dawn Stories of miracles are told Survival is a must
Now lay me down to rest For tomorrow I will arise and face the rest
Day 3
What will the dawn of a new day bring, One never knows But we promise one thing Through our veins vengeance does flow
We saw the face of evil in the blast And yet you claim a holy war Look at the past Is the world to be torn?
The sanctity of life is invaluable To disregard is your will Your destruction is inevitable For love you will killed
Hide where you may But rest assured the beast will be found For forgiveness, kneel and pray Our might will not be bound
No sleeping giant, no world power Merely a melted pot transformed into an iron cauldron Banged and dented but never broken Before you we will not cower
Now lay me down to rest Tomorrow I will arise and the Lord's will shall crest 9-14-02 |
In Chris's words: "This was basically my thoughts and reaction to the first three days of the tragic event."
For Who I AmThe life I lived The life I've chosen How my family thrived What a world god has woven
My daddy's a here for all he's done He served you Now his work is done I love you
Because I can For who I am Sacrifice beyond all No tower two tall
I don't live for grandeur I don't work for accolades My job is to protect my fellow man Because I can
I did all I could For peace and pride I would My family is my county My redemption is my country
Because I can I'm who I am Sacrifice beyond all No tower too tall
My child's smile I see To save my brother I'll never know what you'll be God bless your mother
Through you my spirit lives on One day you'll rise and know Don't let the hatred grow Our salvation lies beyond
Because I can For who I am Sacrifice beyond all No tower two tall
Through song and praise you'll never be forgotten Lord, please let him see How big my heart has gotten You are who I want to be
My daddy's a hero for all he's done He served you Now his work is done I love you
Because I can I'm who I am Sacrifice beyond all No tower too tall 9-28-01 |
