Coping with the 9.11.01 Aftermath

Remember 9/11

By: Lona Dekenipp

Innocently the innocent died.
They tried,
to take away our pride.
Two towers fell.
That day was a day in hell.
The towers now erased
is now an empty space.
The name has been replaced,
with ground zero.
A place we also lost
some of our heroes.
Beneath the metal,
beneath the debris,
lies so many lost memories.
Those terrorists tested our power.
They tested our strength.
To get our revenge,
we'll go to any length.
Babies born without fathers.
Children to grow up without mothers.
Wives, husbands,
brothers, and sisters
all gone.
Vengeance has just begun.
We will not stop
until we find you.
We'll always be
a step ahead of you
watching you
and everything you do.
This attack only made us stronger.
Mess with us
we'll bring it back ten times stronger.
Cause we are the USA
and we'll show you up nay day.
United we stand
and we stand united.

In her own words: I'm 22 years old and I live in Houston, Texas. This is my thought about 9/11. I just wanted it put online for other people to read. My cousin Orio Palmer, a fire chief died a hero on that dreadful day. All I have to say is they may have shook us, but they didn't break us.
