Coping with the 9.11.01 Aftermath

A Hero's Poem

By Amanda Bain

You must have been scared

But you were so brave

Trying to save others and yourself

Everyone working together as one big family

Trying to prevent a major catastrophe

You kept trying but there was nothing you could do

You didn't give up

You didn't stop trying

You didn't give up

You knew your life would soon be over

Everyone feared for you

Everyone felt for you

You knew you would be missed

You tried your hardest but nothing would work

You were willing to risk your life to save others

You didn't give up

You didn't stop trying

You didn't give up

You couldn't do anything

Your family all frightened

Phone calls were made

You closed your eyes

You had to enjoy the last minutes of your life

But you knew more people needed you

You didn't give up

You didn't stop trying

You didn't give up...

In her Mom's own words: Amanda (11yrs old) had to write a poem to remember 9-11-01 in school this year. The poem is about Flight 93. I thought it was too good to keep to myself so I found your web site and thought I would send it in.
